- I've been looking for a free aacPlus audio codec to use in a source encoder. As I've browsed around, I know plenty of people are yanking the WinAmp aac encoder and using that in edcast or whatever encoder they prefer.
Consensus is that Apple's AAC encoder is the best. As I believe it's included in every version of the Mac OS via CoreAudio and Quicktime, could we have AAC conversion options added instead of dealing with command line stuff? Philips smart control software mac. Again, I think XLD does an admirable job of this. See attached screenshot.
