The MC-2300 is a solid-state power amplifier which was built by the American high-end audio company McIntosh, and sold between the years 1971 and 1980. The amplifier was called the McIntosh 50W1 Amplifier. Although amplifiers like those designed in 1936 by Jefferson Electric could produce 60 watts of output power from a pair of 6L6 tubes, the 50 watt McIntosh amplifier enhanced performance with a wider bandwidth of 20 Hz to 20,000Hz and a lower distortion of less than 1%. Founded in 1949, McIntosh is known for offering distinguished home audio systems that deliver the ultimate experience in music and film. Offering products for two-channel stereo sound systems and multi-channel home theaters with surround sound, McIntosh continues to define the ultimate home audio entertainment experience for discriminating listeners around the world.
